Changelog

What's new

Everything we've shipped recently, newest first.

  1. Clearer privacy and safety information

    • The safety page now lists what we collect, what parents can and can't see, and how to download or delete your data.
    • Correction: our privacy policy and homepage said messages were end-to-end encrypted. They're encrypted in transit and at rest, but not end-to-end, because our servers check messages involving students under 18 for threats and personal information. The policy now says so.
    • The homepage now says plainly that StudyAI prompts go to Google, which may use them to improve its products.
    • A new page for schools and counselors at /schools, with a way to contact us.
    • The homepage now shows how Canvas assignments land in your week.
    • New pages comparing StudentVision with Shovel, MyStudyLife and Notion, including where they might suit you better.
  2. Smarter reminders

    • A heads-up 1 to 3 days before a test, with a study plan ready to build in one tap.
    • Your week ahead on Sundays and Mondays: what's due and how many tests.
    • An alert when a synced class average drops, with a link to see what you need next.
    • The streak reminder now shows how long your streak is, and finishing a task counts toward it.
    • Each new reminder can be turned off in Profile > Notifications.
    • Fixed study plans built from a suggestion getting a deadline one day early.
  3. Faster pages and a status page

    • Public pages load faster on phones: less code up front, smaller images.
    • A public status page at /status shows whether the website, sign-in and StudyAI are working.
  4. A much better StudyAI

    • Faster answers, and if one AI model is busy StudyAI switches to another instead of failing.
    • Math shows as real equations.
    • One-tap follow-ups under each answer: explain it simpler, another example, quiz me, or make flashcards.
  5. Your data, your call

    • Download everything StudentVision has about you in one file.
    • Deleting your account now removes all of your data.
  6. Safety for students and parents

    • A public safety page explaining how students are protected.
    • StudyAI points students to real help, including crisis hotlines, when they need it.
    • Essay tools coach you instead of writing for you, and StudyAI won't help during a live quiz.
    • If your school blocks Canvas access, you can connect with your Canvas calendar feed instead.
  7. Safer VisionChat and a better light mode

    • Students under 18 can only message and call accepted friends, and aren't suggested to strangers.
    • Phone numbers, email addresses and home addresses are blocked in chats with students under 18.
    • Canvas connections are stored encrypted.
    • Light mode is easier to read across the app.
  8. Age check and free study plans

    • Everyone gives a date of birth at signup; accounts for students under 13 need a parent's approval.
    • Free AI study plan generator, no account needed, at /study-planner.
    • New study guides for GPA, finals and Canvas.
  9. Free tools

    • Free GPA calculator, final grade calculator and Canvas planner, no account needed.
